The cover for the The Story of Edgar Sawtelle looks the most interesting to me.

Yup, the middle one first. I am quite curious about it.

I have never been a Morrissey fan. The Harvey one looks interesting as well. I do like east coast fiction so I might have to give that one a try.

Two votes for Edgar Sawtelle! Voting will close when I go to bed because I finished my other book today (The Impact of a Single Event) and we all know there is no gap between books!!

I agree - the story of Edgar Sawtelle would be my first choice - rave reviews - i said this before, after reading the back of the book i got the impression it was like The Jungle Book meets Hamlet meets Helen Keller - interesting to say the least

but the morrissey one looks interesting too

Sorry, I've never even heard of these ones so I can't help you there! But, I would love to hear your thoughts on them as you finish them. Would you mind sharing the premise of each now?

Thanks for all the votes everyone! As I posted in another thread, I was too lazy to come back downstairs to get one of these when I went to bed last night so started The Prairie Bridesmaid instead. I do want to read Edgar Sawtelle before long though. Because it is a recent Oprah pick, I'd like to read it before I hear too much more about it. Blackstrap Hawco is a huge book at about 850 pages and spans over a hudred years of a family in Newfoundland. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle is about a mute boy who raises a fictional breed of dog - apparently a stellar debut novel for this author. And What They Wanted is a follow up to the novel Sylvannus Now - also a bit of a family saga placed in Newfoundland. All great reads that I will fit in!
