Anne Lamott's Bird by Bird is a book a lot of writers reference, and I finally borrowed it from the library. Now I need to go buy my own copy, because I know this is a book I'll return to again and again.
It's full of advice, covering topics from plotting, to characters, to giving yourself permission to write "shitty first drafts." (I like the last one best!)
