What Was Lost

What Was Lost | Catherine O'flynn

Not Great.

I really didn't enjoy this book. The beginning was okay, it had a kind of "Harriet the Spy" feel to it (don't deny it - that was a great movie), but once the time period switched from 1984 to 2003, I was lost. I couldn't even tell whether this was panning out to be a ghost story or a romance. The only thing that kept me interested was finding out the big mystery... only to find it a big disappointment. read review

Oh my gosh, you were so right about Russell Brand's book - I finished it last night and it was brilliant!

Thanks! That reassures me - I was about to buy one day in the airport but then abandoned it because I thought it might be lacking his trademark comedic voice and Dickensian vocab.

    Hey. Thanks for accepting.
I just had a quickl question regarding Russell Brand's 'My Booky Wook': does it still have his quirkiness and sense of humour in the book, or is it your standard autobiography about addiction?

Very much, so far, although I'm not that far into it. It reminds me of Dandy in the Underworld, although Russell Brand seems like a bit nicer a person than Sebastian Horsley so far!

Thank you for the recommendation:) I'm not a huge fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers but I think it's only because I haven't heard enough of their music to call myself a fan. Anyway, I like them enough to give this book a read - I'm going to take your word that it's good!
