Love Is The Higher Law

Love Is The Higher Law | David Levithan

The Perfect Mix

Anything that I have read by David Levithan has been hilarious, heartbreaking and just plain awesome. Probably best known for NICK AND NORAH’S INFINITE PLAYLIST, LOVE IS THE HIGHER LAW is a compassionate story about how three teens, Claire, Jasper and Peter, lives are reshaped by the traumatic events of 9/11. Told in their own worlds, each character describes where they were that day and how they deal (or not deal) with the circumstances. I appreciated how Levithan juxtaposed the deep emo… read review

According to her website, her latest book was The Missing Girl which was named a Best Book for Young Adults by the American … view post

The only other book I've read by Eileen Cook is What Would Emma Do? but it wasn't as good as thought it would be... so hopefully her latest will be better this time around! :)

Because there's more to girls than makeup, hair and clothes. So much more. Like Martin Luther King Jr., we believe that "love is the only force strong enough to turn an enemy into a friend." We love books about world-changers, young or old, male or female. We read books that inform us on the issues surrounding war, poverty, hunger, slavery, and the environment; books that lead us to positive action. We are real girls living in the real world. But we are shamelessly idealistic.
