Well, we had another great book this month- One Thousand White Women. A fictional account of a group of women from very different backgrounds who come together in a program set up by the US Gov't to help 'civilize' the Cheyenne Indians. The deal is that they must marry and have children with the Natives and then will be given their freedom. Some have been in trouble with the law, some coming from mental institutions, some orphaned, some poor. They all come together to learn from each other and their new families in the often brutal world that was the wild west in the 1870's. Great story!!

Next month's book choice will be Glass Castle, A memoir by Jeannette Walls. Would love to hear your comments if you have read it!

I am part of a Book Club that we started eight years ago. Our very first read was Kit's Law by Donna Morrisey so we called ourselves the Gulley Tramp Girls (GTG). 74 books later we are still meeting for wine, food that we each bring and some great discussions-sometimes even about the books! This evening's meeting was for Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen which we all read and really enjoyed. Now we are moving on to a novel called 1000 White Women by Jim Fergus. Sounds like it will be an interesting read...

February's Choice
