  • Inception

Posted by Camilla, 3 years ago

Hey guys! So yesterday I saw Inception, directed by the director of Dark Knight. It stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, and many others. It was an INSANE movie, and I was just wondering if anyone else has seen it? To me, it was more of an experience than a movie. I was totally dumbfounded as it progressed, and I just wanted to see what other people's thoughts were after watching it. It was just crazy, and I was totally shocked at the layers and depth into the plot. If I try to re-think everything that happened, I get a bit of a headache, haha.

Anyways, here's the trailer for those of you who haven't! Enjoy :)

I was wondering how many people out there have ever heard of this movie. It was released on DVD in September of 2009 but only in Europe. It was made by the same person that produced Conan. HUGE upgrade in graphics, fx work and overall story from what I've read about it on the internet. The special effects are SPECTACULAR from what I witnessed on the trailer, also on the internet. They're trying to get a film company over here to take an interest in it so it can be sold in North America, but so far no luck! Too bad because it really looks like a movie that I would really love to go see!!!

  • What did you Watch this Weekend? (July 23-25)

It's that time again, tell me what movies you watched this past weekend and what you thought of them.
I watched the Bounty Hunter. I chuckled a couple times, it wasn't that great. I mean Gerard Butler is lovely to look at and all, but it was pretty tame.
Then I watched some oldies.... Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, don't ask why I watched it as it's the second worst HP movie out. HORRIBLY done. I hate Michael Gambon as Dumbledore.
I also watched Enter the Dragon (awesome...of course) and Beverly Hills Cop (1).

    Opinion anyone?

I recently watched Shutter Island and I really have to say that I was rather disappointed with the whole thing! I was expecting it to be alot more scarier, based on the ads that I had seen. The story line was good but maybe they could have found a better lead actor. Sorry, Leonardo but I found his performance to be rather off, like he really didn't fit the role they were trying to portray. All in all I was disappointed with the wholle thing.

I saw this movie this weekend and it was AWESOME!! Soo good. The movie was about 2 hours long and unlike some movies that are that long..this didn't seem long enough. It was over too soon. I really recommend seeing this movie. Also it helps having a very rugged and sexy Nicholas Cage in the starring role.

  • Fav. All Time Movie That You Can Watch Over And Over

Posted by kess, 3 years ago

I was just wondering how many people have got an all time fav. movie that they can watch over and over and never seem to get bored with it? My all time fav is Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman and Wynona Rider in it. Awesome movie!! I just love everything about it from the period costumes to the music to the plot to the dialogue to the cast and well I think you get the picture.

  • What did you watch on the Weekend? (July 9-11)

I went to see Predators. Total B movie. Not bad though (for a B movie).
Then I saw From Paris with Love. It wasn't bad, though I didn't have any expectations for it.
Finally I re-watched Fanboys. Which is such a funny movie.
With it being summer, it's hard to stay in watch too many movies. Come winter and I'll definitely watch more.

  • The Last Airbender movie

Well, I just saw this movie, and I have to say, I was very disappointed. I just recently watched the TV series so that I could at least follow along with what was happening, and I really enjoyed it. It was a funny series, and I was hoping that they would do a good job on the movie and not screw it up. Seems I had my hopes up to high. They pronounced lots of names wrong, people who were supposed to be white were colored, and the colored people were white. There was very little humor, and lots of important bits in the movie were missing. It went much to fast (it felt like maybe 45 minutes, when in reality it was nearly 2 hours or so) and many of the people they picked to play parts in the movie weren't the right people. I feel that they could have done a lot better than they did on much of this. The beginning was wrong, and although I could have forgiven it for a few parts (it may have been to hard or expensive to do) I was mad at the fact that lots of simple little things that were important were overlooked. Appa, a CGI character, looked wrong. Momo, another CGI character, also looked wrong. The main character, Aang, was a bit of a flat character, and didn't really develop much. Sokka, who was supposed to be the comic relief, wasn't funny in the least. Katara was okay, but they really picked the wrong person. She didn't fit well for the original character description. Zuko wasn't even supposed to have hair, and his scar was all wrong and hardly visible. Uncle Iroh was supposed to be a fat old man who was supposed to easy-going and good humored. But instead, he was a tall thin man who wasn't as very easy-going and good humored as he should have been.
Another thing that I had problems with was how long it took them to do their bending. They would do an elaborate dance and then get a tiny little reaction after all of that. In the TV show, it was a quick move and they got a huge reaction out of it.
The end was wrong too. I was really mad at that especially because I had been looking forward to it. But really, after all of that horrible stuff they did, I shouldn't have been surprised. Don't get me wrong, they did a wonderful job making the water and fire move around, I just wish that they had put maybe a little bit more effort into the rest of the movie as well.
It was a bad take on a good series. Maybe if they had watched the first season of the show they might have done better.
