    Winter is Coming Blog

Posted by JohnnyXeo, 3 years ago

Came across this blog that GRRM posted on his live journal and I figured I pass it along. It's speculation and rumours about the hopeful HBO series about GRRM's books.

Check out winter-is-coming.blogspot.com/ for some neat info.

  • Game of Throne HBO News

Posted by JohnnyXeo, 3 years ago

    Taken from GRRM's Blog.

HBO has given the production order.

They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES.

It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass.

It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series.

More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already.

Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn.

  • Fevre Dream, Review

I have become a fan of George R.R Martin through his Song of Ice and Fire series and wanted to delve deeply into his other works. Fevre Dream is an amazing piece of literature that takes place during the 1850's, and mostly takes place upon a River Steamer. The rich setting is amazingly detailed and you can feel, hear and almost touch the cities he brings to life in the story. He takes a different take on Vampires, from what I previously read in other novels - which was quite refreshing. Abner Marsh and Joshua York are the two main characters who you grudginly over the course of the story, start to relate to their positions and the confrontations their placed in. If you love Martin, read this. If you love Vampires, read this. If you like both, you're in luck.

I have just started to read this novel and I am enthralled by the characters and the Steamers. It has been a long time since I have read a vampire novel and I will be sure to post a proper review when I am done this gem.
