    Enjoyed her latest book

Posted by Jacquie Rose, 3 years ago

I hadn't really liked her previous book (even though I have loved every other book she has written) so I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this one immensely. Her easy writing and likable characters are a breath of fresh air. I can't wait for her to write her next one!

  • Why do you like Maeve?

Posted by Shannon Rooke, 4 years ago

What is it about her writing that you like the most? I have to admit that what first attracted me to her books was the Irish setting. I've always wanted to visit Ireland and I thought this was a good substitute, at least for now. I also remember watching the movie version of "Circle of Friends" and that prompted me to check out some of her other books. I've read about 5 or 6 and I think my favourite so far has been "Tara Road".

  • "Whitethorne Woods"

Posted by Jacquie Rose, 5 years ago

I finally got a chance to read Maeve Binchy's latest novel Whitethorne Woods. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. Even though I know this author does tend to have many characters in her books, I found this particular story had too many characters and I felt that they didn't all blend in together with the story. It just didn't seem to have the good flow that her other books had. Although I still love this author and will continue to look forward to any new books, I just didn't feel this was up to her usual standards.

  • Lovely stories

I read my first book "Light A Penny Candle" over 20 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Her books are charming. I liken her stories to "A slow stroll through a park on a sunny day"
