  • Criminal Minds: Sociopaths, Serial Killers and Other Deviants

Posted by Amanda Wilkins, 13 months ago

I'm halfway through the novel and it's already one of the best I've read. The stories in it are disturbing, BUT also completely interesting. I find it fasinating how criminals can be put in categories, and how they think. I explains how these killers have grown up, and explains why the killer sees things the way they do. It's not just a story about one serial killer, but a series of killings that are mentioned in Criminal Minds, which is a favourite show of mine.

I can't put this book down, and I was excited to share it, even before I was finished reading it!

    The Missing Girls

Posted by snob canoegyrl, 2 years ago

I am currently reading "The Missing Girls" by Linda O'Neal, Phillip Tennyson & Rick Watson.

It caught my eye when I went to the book store. I don't know if you guys find it weird but when I go and buy a book, I never read the back of the book to see what they are about. If the name and Cover looks good it looks good to me. Anyhow back to the book. It's about these two missing girls from Oregon. Ashley Pond who is only 12 years old than 2 months after her best friend goes missing. Phillip Tennyson & Linda O'Neal were step-grandparents of Ashley Pond. Lindad O'Neal who is a Private Investagator and was asked by the family for help in Ashley's dissappearance.

I am currently reading The Killer Book of True Crime. I have read this cover to cover over and over and still find interesting information I have over looked. Tom Philbin is releasing a new book on July 1st and I'm anticipating it's release since his last book The Killer Book of Serial Killers!

I love his books and hope that there is more to come!

His books are filled with fascinating facts about crimes that have happened over the century and it never dulls me...

Did you know that the front man for Red Hot Chili Peppers was suspected of a Serial Murder?

All this information and more can be found in his Killer Books of....

I highly suggest to read this book for any True Crime Fan!

In an effort to get this group up and posting again I'm challenging everybody to share which true crime book you're reading now, or just finished reading, and share with everybody your opinion of it.

I'm currently reading Helter Skelter. Everything happened before I was born (my parents weren't even teenagers yet) so my knowledge going into it was limited to say the least. So far what stands out most to me is the laziness of the detectives, crime scene investigators, etc. So much has happened that's made me smack my head and ask "what were you thinking?"

    Come to the launch

I invite all of you to the launch of my book The Bandido Massacre: A True Story of Bikers, Brotherhood and Betrayal (HarperCollins) on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Prohibition Gastro Pub on Queen St. E., a couple doors west of Broadview. Prohibition is on the site of the former Bandidos clubhouse. The Bandidos used to meet there in the mid-2000s, back when Prohibition was under different ownership. The Bandidos that meant here were the victims (and one killer) involved in the massacre of eight bikers in Shedden, outside London, Ont., four years ago. You can read more about the launch in the blog section of my website at www.thebandidomassacre.com. You can see video and hear audio of the crew on the site. Cheers, Peter Edwards

Helter Skelter. Positively the most interesting account of the Manson murders I have ever encountered. Vincent Bugliosi gives amazing detail to the story without boring the reader. I have a hard time putting this one down. A must read if there ever was one.

I just wanted to share this e-mail that I received from Philip Carlo, the author of The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer.

I wanted to let you know that my new book, GASPIPE, CONFESSIONS OF A MAFIA BOSS is available for pre-order on my website, www.philipcarlo.com, through amazon.com. GASPIPE is a rare, intimate look into the inner workings of the New York Mafia. The story focuses on Anthony "Gaspipe" Casso, the notorious head of the Lucchese crime family. I spent ten years researching this epic rollercoaster ride into the bloody, violent world of La Cosa Nostra. Anthony Casso was the Mafioso who hired the two so-called "Mafia Cops" to murder at his bidding. If you liked ICEMAN, you'll love GASPIPE...

    Cheers,
    Philip Carlo
