We are very excited about this release party! Many of our staff have read and loved Stephenie Meyers first three books so we want to do her justice.
If you pre-order by July 17 you get a chance to win a trip to meet Stephenie Meyers!

There is lots of things to do!
If you have pre-ordered Breaking Dawn, there will be a station for you to register. Once you sign in with a piece of ID you will be given a wristband. There will be markers on the floor to indicate where to line-up to pick up your book at 12:01. You can enter the line at any time but we've got lots of stuff to keep you busy until you want to.
If you haven't pre-ordered, there will be a different line to purchase Breaking Dawn at 12:01. You can enter the line at any time but we've got lots of stuff to keep you busy until you want to.

Then onto the fun stuff. There are five activities going on at the same time and you can move around to each one at your own pace.

Join in our trivia contest and test your knowledge of werewolves, vampires and everything Stephanie Meyer. Pick up an armband to represent Team Bella, Team Edward or Team Jacob. (9-11pm)
Then stretch your design muscles by making a Masquerade mask! We will have feathers, glitter and many more decorations available for you to make the perfect mask. (9-11pm)
If you are in a quiet mood settle down in the mini movie lounge to watch "Romeo and Juliet". Popcorn will be sold to support the Love of Reading fund. (9-11pm)
The Spoiler Circle is the place to be to talk about Edward, Bella, Jacob and all the "what ifs" and "What abouts". (9-11pm)
Stop in the Fate & Fortune corner to get a glimpse of the future. (9-11pm)

Check out Starbucks for some Breaking Dawn themed drinks.

At 11pm we will hold out costume contest and announce the winners of the team trivia. Then get ready to pick up your copy of Breaking Dawn at 12:01.

Hi, Im taylor and I would like to give an idea towards the Halifax Nova Scotia parties for the Breaking Dawn release. So, the book Eclipse came with T-shirt press ons that say team edward and team jacob. So I think that each person could wear a shirt with either team on it. Then there could be soemsort of competition between the two teams I dont what kind of competition but... I dont think that prom and masquerade are really good ideas because most people wont want to get really dresses up so a t-shirt that has a team name on it would be casual but still have to do with the books right?

Personally I like Taylor Jay's idea. I`ve attended quite a few release parties in my day. Unlike some other books (Harry Potter for example) there is no real costume theme in the Twilight series. The team idea allows for good natured rivalry and for those of us who are really ìnto the story to declare our allegiance....Go Team Edward!

Yes, I have been to Harry Potter release parties being one of the biggest fans (no offense to anyone) and I am a big fan of Edward but how do you dress up as alice or bella or edward if they all wear casual clothes? So the team idea may be the best! Thanks for agreeing ingrid!

The team idea is great and we used it with our trivia competition. Thank you! We added team Bella for those who can't decide between Edward and Jacob and just want Bella to be happy. There will be armbands you can wear to show your support. The costume contest is a bit more challenging than Harry Potter but I've heard some good ideas so far - chess piece, Alice in the Asylum, or Victorian vampire victim. Or just dress in way that shows your love for the books, which wearing a Team Edward t-shirt absolutely does.

I have a question: if you do plan to go along with the masquerade theme, what does a "masquerade costume" consist of? A dress and a mask? And I'm also kind of confused, you can buy the book at midnight right? You don't have to pre-order it?

well i have been to many release parties and you dont have to pre-order the book. And a masqurade is basically a dress or suit and a mask. But it can also be just dressing up as someone or something using a mask. Depends on which context its in and in this case it's either

Hey, i was wondering if your gonna have music playing there. And if theres gonna be dancing? Cuz if there is, i think for a slow song you should totally play Bellas lullbye song.

I was wondering why you have to show I.D. DO you have to be a certain age? If so what age. Also I was making sure that you can get in the party with ought having pre-ordered the book right?

There will be music playing- we've got Stephenie Meyer's playlist ! We haven't set aside a particular spot for dancing but spontaneous dancing in the aisles would be wonderful!
You only have to show ID if you are picking up a pre-ordered book. Since it's already paid for we ask for ID to make sure the book goes to the right person. There will be lots of copies of Breaking Dawn to buy that night if you haven't pre-ordered it.
The party is open to all fans of the Twilight series, no matter how old they are. Maybe with all the excitement and neat stuff going on we might entice people just in shopping that night to try the series.

Hey, Thanks for all this help on what's going on for the pre-release parties. I think that it's an AMAZING idea, and a great opportunity for Twilight fans in the same area to get to know eachother. As for the music and dancing idea, it's a good idea as well. I was just wondering, will there be more than one prize for costumes and such? Like who looks the most like Alice, or Bella, or Rosalie...etc? Like, a certain prize for best representation of so-and-so, or will it be just one prize for best costume? Thanks again.

Different stores are having different events but most are staying open for the midnight release. You can check online if they are having a party then just give them a call for details.
There will be 5 or 6 prizes for costumes- the best Bella, Edward, and Jacob are 3 of them.
