  • Wicked by Gregory Maguire

This book sucked me in and would not let me go. There are familiar events from the Wizard of OZ, but it isn't about telling that story from another side. It follows Elphaba's (the wicked witch of the west) life from birth. I love the way he tells a story and have enjoyed all of his books that I have read so far.

I really loved this book. After I read it, I was thinking how a musical would be created from the novel. It came to Ottawa in August of 2008 and we were up front and center and it was amazing. I won't say too much so I don't spoil it for anybody. The audience was split into two groups. One group had not read the book but wanted to to after seeing the show. The other group had read the book and wanted to see how they could turn it into a broadway production.
