    More Suggestions

Posted by Jodie Skinner, 4 years ago

One book that one of my boys really enjoyed was The Dog Who Wouldn't Be by Farley Mowat. This is a great book that makes you laugh out loud!

One book that I think is great is called Behind the Secret Window: A Memoir of a Hidden Childhood During World War II. This is a great book written during the second World War from a little girl's point of view. None of my students have read it yet but it is a great book based on a true story.

One book that I haven't read yet but it is on my to do list is called Escape from Warsaw. It takes place in 1942 in Warsaw and is about children whose mother was taken away by Nazi Storm Troopers and they are left to fend for themselves. This too is based on a true story. Has anybody else read it?

A book that would be great for high school students is Night by Elie Wiesel. I read this book after seeing him on Oprah. What a heartbreaking story! It made me cry and ache in my heart. I would suggest this book only for somebody who can stomach graphic descriptions of the most horrible crimes that man can commit.
