Let's Get This Group Going Again :)

Hi There Everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted anything...my apologies.

I would like to wake up our little group and give it some new life. We have a few new CER's that have joined our store (and a few that have left) since we first started our group, so I plan to do a little recruiting.

However, one of the main purposes of our group is to share product knowledge and other news pertaining to Chapters Devonshire. That is where you come in.

I will be the first to admit that I have been a little lazy in posting on this group lately, but I want to change that. I just finished "Half-Blood Blues" by Esi Edugyen, which won the 2011 Giller Prize. I really liked it and will post my review of it soon.

The book I'm currently working on is called The Winter Palace by Eva Stachniak, which is a historical novel about Catherine the Great. It's been getting quite a bit of publicity in the major Canadian magazines, so I decided to give it a try. So far, so good.

If there is anything that you have read recently that you would like to share with our fellow co-workers and friends, please feel free to post a review or just tell us about it. Many customers look for our Staff Pick's in the store, so it would be good to know what we are reading or liked.

I've also attached a few photos taken at the Jann Arden book signing event back in November in case you didn't see them.

Finally, I'm sure I share the sentiments of all of us at Chapters Devonshire in wishing all the best to our manager, Kathryn, who has started her maternity leave, anxiously awaiting the birth of her little pink package. Congratulations Kathryn!

I would also like to welcome our new manager, Lindsay, who came to us from Indigo Lakeshore. She is not on our group yet, but I hope she will be soon.
