  • Books for Branding

Posted by Annastacia Dickerson, 5 years ago

I like to list a bookshelf of books regarding this topic if I could, but the truth is I learn in this industry through mentorship and experience. Knowing how you learn is as important as learning itself. I find I learn best through direct discussion, personal tutorial, and trial and error. I have received very little benefit in the way of books, however there are a couple that I found inspiring in that the looked upon my industry with sarcasm. Somehow being able to laugh at it, helped me understand it.

Splendid, culture Jam I haven't read yet. Maybe one day you will publish a book facilitating the learning of Branding, you can count on me for buying a copy. Cheers

Hi Anastasia! Do you like one over the other? I saw the documentary for "No Logo" and thought it had a couple interesting points, but was mostly BS. Fast forward a couple of months and I was looking at "No Logo" at an Indigo (thought the book might be more inspiring than the documentary) and a passing employee told me that "Culture Jam" is infinitely better. Would you agree, or disagree?

I personally like "Culture Jam" best. Kalle Lasn was also founder of Adbusters magazine, another favorite of mine. There was another book I quite like but I am having trouble remembering it now. If it does, I will post it.

Also the 1999 version of "Culture Jam" had the subtitle "The Uncooling of America".
