    No Time for Goodbye Redux

Posted by Tara Davis, 5 years ago

I have to say this book got so many rave reviews that my expectations were too high. It definitely wasn't a nail biter, even at its most exciting points. But, something about this book kept me reading. I have read other books that I didn't particularly find interesting and have thrown them out. I guess I really wanted to know what was going to happen.

I was reading Tess Gerritsen's blog the other day and it actually mentioned this book. Her take (or, rant) was about action not necessarily translating into suspense. She thought Barclay's book was a great example of a book having little 'action' and lot's of suspense. I just couldn't find the suspense. I know where I was supposed to feel it, but it just wasn't there for me.

I find myselff wishing, of all things, that this book was a little longer. I would love to know more about Vince Fleming and his step-daughter, so I wish they could have had a little more to do with the climax. I guess this was a long-winded way of saying I liked this book, but didn't love it.
