    I'm back!

Posted by Shannon Rooke, 3 years ago

I didn't realize how long it had been since I had logged into my account here, but with 62 new notifications, I guess that tells me it's been a while. I received one new book for Christmas and bought several others using gift cards so I'm excited to get reading again.

My cousin gave me a copy of "Atonement" for Christmas in 2007 and I am just now reading it. I had seen the movie just after getting the book and it was OK. I'm finding the book very difficult to get through now since I know what's supposed to happen and it hasn't happened yet. After getting nearly 140 pages into the story, I would have thought we'd see a little more action by now.

I also saw "Twilight" over the break and can't wait to read the books. I'm always a little slow to jump on any bandwagon, but I think I will really enjoy those stories. They won't be able to measure up to Harry Potter for me I'm sure, but I think I'll like them nonetheless. Let me put it this way, I doubt I'll be attending any fan conferences for Twilight like I do for HP. And for those HP fans out there, please come to San Francisco in July for the HPEF conference, Azkatraz. We're going to have a blast! The conference attendees will also be viewing the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in a specially reserved IMAX theatre in San Fran on July 17. I can't wait!
