Bared To You: A Crossfire Novel

Bared To You: A Crossfire Novel | Sylvia Day

Too similar ... way too similar

Embarassing confession: I picked this book up because it was in the "if you liked 50 Shades, then you'll like this" category. It was just ok. It was definitely no 50 Shades. It had its steamy moments, but was definitely rough around the edges. At times I felt like the plotline bordered on plagerism vis a vis 50 Shades. All that said, I read it in an afternoon and I didn't feel like I wasted my time - and I'll probably read the sequel when its released in October (blushing). read review

I noticed you added 50 Shades of Grey to your pile! I just finished reading the first 2 books in the trilogy, and they were awesome!! I mean 5 alarm hot, and a great story to boot...highly recommend they find their way to the top of the heap!

I'll be sure to let you know Crista..I've wanted to read it for a couple of years now - the whole idea of a Freud involved in a murder mystery has got me intrigued.

It would make a great selection, it's an easy read, and the story never falls into a lull. My book club really loved Through Black Spruce too, exemplary writing coupled with a great Canadian story.

I'm not sure what you've already read, or what types of books you usually read, but I suggest checking out these:
The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht
    The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom
Through Black Spruce by Joseph Boyden
I think any of these would be excellent picks!
