Memoirs of a Geisha

Memoirs of a Geisha | Arthur Golden

Holy Memoirs!

There were lots of enlightening expressions and each one, I found, left me in awe... they were so beautiful and well used. It was an intimate experience to be fully immersed in the life of Chiyo/Sayuri, but it was also a bit boring in some places... just because it dragged on a bit. I saw the movie first, so I was eager to see how closely it followed the book. There are many differences between the two, but in the end the same feelings and points were made. Thanks to the movie I was able to vi… read review

Sulking the day before it's due.

I hate assignments. They're not even hard. A retarded monkey could do what I have to do. I just don't like the idea of having to do assigned work. My problem is the schedule, the drones, the day to day boredom, and no variety. College is such a norm, such a rule. Why can't we go back to the days when scholar took on apprentice. That would be so much better. view post

  • I'm living in: Nightfall, Earth.

  • About Me:

Sapphire, Phire, Fire. If I didn't have to go to school, I'd read more, sleep less, and be a much happier Libra, year of the horse. Fiction is why I read. ••••••▼ "...one of the strongest motives that lead men to art and science is escape from everyday life with its painful crudity and hopeless dreariness, from the fetters of one's own ever-shifting desires. A finely tempered nature longs to escape from the personal life into the world of objective perception and thought." ►A.E.

LOL! I was afraid you would be angry with me. And hey, I've been known to sulk on many an occasion! Oh, by the way, I think your waayyyy smarter than a monkey!! *giggles* Love your sense of humour....it seems a bit twisted like mine is. (I mean that as a compliment I assure you!) Feel free to trawl through my shelves and I'll do the same with yours. Warning though, mine are seriously out of date as I've been offline for most of the past year. I will get them updated soon(ish).

Hi. Thanks for the invite. Yeah, I read ALOT. I have made quite a few lists if you are looking for recommendations. If you like Dan Brown, I'd recommend James Rollins Map of Bones, or Steve Berry's The Templar Legacy. Both are first books in a couple of really great series. You might also like Matthew Reilly's Seven Deadly Wonders. It's a fast paced rollercoaster ride.
