Something Borrowed | Emily Giffin

A Good, Light Story

I needed a light, easy read and this book delivered. However it wasn’t so light that it was boring, I found it to be quite the page turner at times. I liked the characters and related to Rachel (only in the way that we suffer from being goody-two-shoes) and I liked that she progressed, she got some attitude near the end of the book. Overall I really liked it and I am considering reading the next book in the series. read review

Annual Rotary Booksale

This was my 4th year at the Rotary Book Sale. I got there a little late this year and missed the big rush but it was still lots of fun combing through all the books and I got some books I was hoping to find but wasn't expecting to actually be there.

I started with the novels this year and I found some really good books:
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie - Alan Bradley...excited to read this, like really excited!
Sarahs' Key - Tatiana De Rosnay...at the bookstore … view post

Contiki was great. I did 3 trips with them.. Spain & Portugal , Egypt and one of Berlin/Vienna/Prague. I really enjoyed traveling with them. I met some really good friends that I still talk to 10+ years later! I never did any of their let me go to a new country every day tours... I was a little older when I discovered contiki then you though :) But I do like trying to experience one or two countries more in depth...

Oooh! I'm interested to hear what you think of LAMB: the gospel according to Bif,....it's one of my favourite books!!!!! Is it the first you've read of Christopher Moore? It's by far his best... Nothing else quite mathes it (though I also recommend a lot of his books). Enjoy!

I guess it would depend on the interest in non-fiction and medical exploration really. I find out it fascinating in terms of development scientifically that has impacted us as a civilization, but my sister is also a nurse and in the medical profession so I found it intriguing. If you haven't had any exposure to that, I could see why it wouldn't speak to the masses :) I have picked up Night Circus and it's a delight right now :) Hope your holiday reading is coming along.....! Happy Holidays

...film about three times. It actually has a lot of things I hadn't noticed while watching the film. For example, the boy, Danny, has some special abilities--he can read people's minds and he had a ghost friend that would show him the future (before the family went to the hotel,, i don't know if this friend will show up again). So far i reached the part about the family getting to the hotel.

I'm surprised you have never slept in class before, but it's a good thing :) I hope those books turn out good too. sorry for the late reply, school makes me really stressed out. I hate checking my course sites for updates to them and for notes. then chapters doesn't email me any updates either i'm not sure why even though the settings were on, but i guess it's a good thing--less distraction. what have you been up to? I started reading 'the Shining' by stephen King even though i've watched the..
