Inside Out and Back Again

Inside Out and Back Again | Thanhha Lai

Just a lovely story

This honor book is better than the medal winner. (The same thing happened last year - I thought Turtle in Paradise was better than Moon Over Manifest). This is the story of a little Vietnamese girl who flees the war to America in the 70s and her adjustment to living in Alabama. It is told through poetry, although the poems read more like journal entries. Just a really sweet story - definitely worth a quick read. read review
