The Thirteen Hallows | Michael Scott

Good combo of mythology and action!

Mythology, religion, magic and action make for an interesting and exciting thriller. When Sarah Miller comes to the aid of an elderly woman who appears to be being mugged, she has no idea that she has just involved herself in a centuries old battle that could lead to the end of the world as we know it. Sarah takes the old woman, Judith Walker, home with her, after seeing her to her own flat and realizing it's been trashed. But once Sarah is seen to have been "with" Judith, the shadowy peo… read review

New list: Non-fiction so good you'll swear it's fiction!

Since summer is one of the best times [though I don't think there's such a thing as a bad time!] to read, I created a new list of the best non-fiction books I've read lately. These are fascinating stories about murder, history, science and law, among other things. If all non-fiction books were this interesting I'd read a lot more of it. In case you're looking for a unique read this summer:

I'm looking forward to the next Pendergast novel as well!

Thanks for your kind words. You've written a lot of splendid reviews! When I get the time I'm going to have to go through your reviews and add the items you've given a good review of to my shelf.

    Have a good evening!

    Hi Krisrid!

Thanks for noticing. I'm really flattered that I was given the tag. You flatter me! I've always been a little shy about my book reviews and comments on books. I figured I was stating the obvious and that my opinions were bland.

I see you’re a fan of FBI Special Agent Aloysius X. L. Pendergast too! He's fantastic, isn't he? He's got the whole package: unconventional good looks, mysterious family background, vast amounts of knowledge on every subject, a love of green tea, etc. =)

From now on, I am going to review every book I read here on the site. I like reading reviews by other readers, so I'm going to write ones on all the books I read whether I like them or not.

I'm always happy that on Fridays because weekends mean time to sit on the couch with my book for at least a few hours of uninterrupted enjoyment of whatever great story I'm reading this week!

Too many books, not enough time!! There are so many great books I want to read, but working for a living really cuts into my reading time. If I ever win the lottery, I'm taking a "reading" sabbatical.
