I bought my SO an original Kobo two years ago and it lasted about a year and a half before the screen broke. When we went to get a new one, we had heard good things about the Touch so we got him that one. After the first week, we started having problems with the screen freezing up and having to do factory resets at least once a week - we were spending more time resetting it than reading with it.
