I, Lucifer: Finally, The Other Side Of The Story

I, Lucifer: Finally, The Other Side Of The Story | Glen Duncan

Witty and droll, though not overly convincing as a novel...

I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion ... I always enjoyed the deliciously dark and facetious attitude with which The Devil wittily recounts his "side of the story" ... I was pleasantly surprised to discover Lucifer's apparent appreciation for the simple things in life via his human vessel's five senses ... but it just felt like I had been reading a brilliant essay which had been poked, prodded and otherwise molested until it had assumed the likeness of a (rather scattered!… read review

  • About Me:

Books are my most treasured material possessions! E-books seem to be the latest invention, but I don't believe they can ever replace the pleasure of actually holding a book in your hands as you read it, the smell of the paper as you flip through the pages... I gravitate towards fantasy, though I'm up for anything, and lately I've developed a particular fondness for travel memoirs that bring the essence of another culture alive in my mind's eye! Let me know if you have any recommendations!

I totally agree with you about the ebooks. Although it's a neat idea I don't think it will ever feel the same as curling up with a real book. I think some things aren't meant to be modernized.

    Hey Lyndsay
What i really liked about Lucky Man was gettting to know Micheal J Fox as a person and not just seeing him as an actor. It also help me understand parkinson better and struggles related to it. Ive been a huge fan of Micheal J fox since i was a kid and trully appriciated that he shared his story with the public. He is trully an amazing man.
I havent read Always looking up but its in my TRB tower!! lol
what are you reading? hope you have a great week end!

I have three cats. Two of them are sisters, and the other one is a stray male that just showed up. He decided he wanted to move in. I really had no say in the matter, haha. They are all just mixed shorthairs.

Oh, I hate that when a TV show or movie sort of taints the quality of a book. TV shows and films should be forced to do justice to the book.

I hope you're having a nice day. Happy reading!

    Hi Lyndsay!

Hood was a great read! Lawhead does away with alot of the myth and mystery surrounding Robin Hood as we know him, and makes him a real person, with alot of hardships to deal with and tough decisions to make. All is NOT merry, believe me!

As for the Shadows series, I loved them! I am a sucker for a good assassin story, and this one was great! Book 2 dragged a little, but book 3 more than made up for it!

    I highly recommend both!

I've heard lots of people talk about how good Terry Goodkind is, but I've never known where to start with his books. Thanks for giving me a place to start. I'll be sure to check him out.

Hahaha, you have cats too? Cat people and book people are often the same. How many cats do you have?

Thanks for all the great recommendations! Happy reading and have a great day!

I hate coming to the end of a series and having to wait for a year to read the next book. It drives me nuts! I'm going to be going through that with the Sookie series as soon as I read Dead and Gone.

I've never read any Celtic style mythical fantasy before, but it does sound like an appealing genre! I'll have to check out your recommendations.

I own three books in the series by George R R Martin that you mentioned, but I haven't read any of them yet. Soon I will though!

I'm glad that you are enjoying Dead Until Dark. I love the series! It does get better as you get further into the series. The third book was the one that got me officially hooked.

Do you have any favorite books or authors?

I read your "About Me" section, and I completely agree that e-books can never replace a tangible book to hold.

    Have a lovely day!
