Love It!

Kobo I felt like I had to read at least one full book before I published a review on my Kobo. Just finished. I love the Kobo, here are a list of pros/cons to make this easier: Pros • Compact, feels wonderful in your hands, very comfortable • Ability to increase or decrease text size • Bookmarks your place and easily shows you what you've been reading • Super long battery life, I read a whole book (278 pgs) and didn't have to charge • Easier to travel with than a regular book, toss i… read review

The problem isn't Kobo, it's Amazon/Kindle. Kindle can only read Amazon books, and you can only read Amazon books on Kindle. Kobo can read pretty much anybody's books, except Amazon books. Once you buy books for your Kindle, you'll only ever be able to read them on a Kindle... unless you have the tech-savvy to remove the copy protection and convert the format (which I did with "Strengthsfinder 2.0". Problem is, some books are only available for Kindle.

In light of the fact, you liked the book the Book Of Negros, I think you would enjoy the book, Black Slave Of South Carolina 1790- 1860 by Larry koger.
I wrote a review about this book. If you like, you can read it on my page. Thank you, for excepting me as a friend.

Hey Mindy, thanks for the friendship and the kind words. I see you have Memoirs of a Geisha on your to be read list. It's a fabulous book, Catch-22 is amazing too. Just don't give up on the latter, as the beginning can be a little hectic. It does all come together and is quite hilarious. Happy Reading!

    Hey Mindy,
Yeah, books by Canadian authors that I've read don't stick to the front of my mind when I am thinking of great books I've read, because they're usually just okay. With school work and now the Olympics, reading a book is taking forever! Thank you, that would be great, if you come across a really great book by a Canadian author, please do let me know :)

I have put The Road aside. Perhaps I will pick it up another time. Push myself through it.

Still Alice was definitely a great read and I highly recommend it. Everyone I know has thought it has been great.

Let me know what you think of it when you end up reading it.

    Happy reading!

    Mindy,

I said I would keep you posted on my read through The Road.
I must say, I am having a very hard time getting through it.
I am 100 pages into the book and just not felt that connection.
I believe that it is the writing style that is making it difficult to enjoy.
However, I am going to tough it out and keep reading and hope for the best!

    Have a great holiday season.

They are making it into a movie, so it must be good. :)
