Twenties Girl: A Novel

Twenties Girl: A Novel | SOPHIE KINSELLA

Average and strongly disappointing.

I was unaware of this book until I saw it on the shelf and picked it up without even reading the back. This is usually how it works between myself and Ms. Kinsella's books. With 'Twenties Girl' I was strongly disappointed. Sophie has created an empire in strong leading ladies, charming leading men and quirky plot twists. 'Twenties Girl' while, holding true to the formula, feels a little bit too forced for my tastes and, in my opinion, would have worked much better if the whole ghost elem… read review

Hi! I am always looking for good books and am glad to have helped you out. I'm reading Blood royal by Vanora Bennett and it's another great novel set in 1420.
I'm off to brows your lists:-)

yeah, I didn't either. I picked up the book probably about 6 months after the movie came out and didn't realize what it was until I was a few chapters in! I would think it's probably one you'll have to order in as it's quite a few years old now.

No kidding, that's the worst when they turn a fav. book into a movie and massacre it! Garden Spells reminded me very much of Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman (yes, the one that the movie was based on, and acually the movie was really good too, that's one they didn't mess up!) If you haven't tried Alice Hoffman, she's really good too!

hey Melissa, what did you think of The Sugar Queen? I've read Garden Spells and enjoyed it. Also LOVED the Time Traveller's Wife, one of my all time fav. books :D
