Deception Of The Emerald Ring

Deception Of The Emerald Ring | WILLIG LAUREN

Enjoyable addition to the Pink Carnation series
5 years ago

In writing “The Deception of the Emerald Ring“, author Lauren Willig has delivered another fun, witty, fast-paced and highly entertaining novel. Like its predecessors, “The Secret History of the Pink Carnation” and “The Masque of the Black Tulip”, the narrative moves between the adventures of modern day graduate student Eloise Kelly and those of her early 19th century research subjects. Filled with romance, intrigue, misunderstanding and adventure, this book is an enjoyable addition to the P… read review

So glad to hear you enjoyed The Conquest. I enjoyed it too. I've just started reading The White Queen by Philippa Gregory. I haven't had as much time to read lately but I'm really looking forward to this novel!

I didn't enjoy the Other Queen as much as her earlier Tudor novels but I've heard the White Queen is a good read too...so I'll let you know for sure. I hope you find a Michael's book you do enjoy. Have a great weekend too Melissa!

I enjoyed Master of Blacktower and Wait For What Will Come from Barbara Michaels. I don't think I've read The Sea King's Daughter and if I did it was too long ago to remember. It can be hit and miss with her novels...but when I enjoy one, I really get into it. Lords of the White Castle is very good...I'm almost finished it and then I plan to read the White Queen by Philippa Gregory

I don't read a lot of fantasy...the Mists of Avalon and LOTR series is about it! I love Barbara Michaels books...some mystery/supernatural/history/romance all thrown into one. Let me know what you think of the Sea King's Daughter. I hope Lucy can help you! :-)

Yes, she has two sequels to the Wild Hunt..The Running Vixen is the second book (God that sounds like such an awful Harelquin title for a really good historical fiction series lol) and then one more after that.

Yes, I love Jean Plaidy too..an older writer with a couple of pen names. A good person to ask about her books would be my friend Lucy Bertoldi..she's in my list..she actually has a website dedicated to Jean Plaidy's books. Give her a buzz and ask her for advice. Tell her I sent you :)

Elizabeth Chadwick is another favorite author of mine. I'm loving Lords of the White Castle. It takes place in England during the time of King John. The Greatest Knight was a fantastic novel. The Winter Mantle was my least favorite novel. I'd recommend A Place Beyond Courage, The Scarlet Lion and The Wild Hunt too

Melissa...so glad to hear that. Susanna Kearsley is a favorite author of mine. Mariana, Shadowy Horses and The Winter Sea are my favorite novels by her. I love stories that take place in England and Scotland for some strange reason!

I didn't realize it was a trilogy lol...I better order Here Be Dragons and read it first! Thanks for letting me know Melissa. Cate
