have you aver tried to explain why you like traveling, to some one who does not travel much, or at all? This explains it with out even trying. The writer ( Mary Morris ) travels through Russia, China, and Europe alone. Mary plans to visit her grand parents home of Kiev. Due a nuclear plant disaster in Chernobyl in the 1980's, her plans are changed, and she never makes it to Kiev. she feels being pregnant would be to much of a risk. and rightly so in my opinion.     The key is that I set aside any book that is not at least four stars (and, of course, the star system is completely subjective). Life is too short to plod through books that are simply mediocre. This means, of course, that for the 25 books I've reviewed, I've started dozens more. So yes, the ones that make the cut are reviewed very positively. But there's enough negativity in the world without saying something bad about the ones that didn't interest me.
