Sprig Muslin

Sprig Muslin | Georgette Heyer

Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer

The writing seems to be a bit more hectic in Sprig Muslin than in other Heyer stories. I would have liked more scenes with Lady Hester and Sir Gareth Ludlow. Recommended for Heyer fans but if you are just starting to read Heyer, this is not her best effort. read review

Peony in Love. Heartbreaking and lovely.

Peony in Love was just as enjoyable, maybe even more so, as Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. I thought Lisa See was more focused on telling the story of Peony rather than detailing historical facts of the time, as with Snow Flower.

Peony, a much loved daughter, is obsessed with an opera called The Peony Pavilion and longs to be in love and in charge of her destiny, although she is to be wed to someone she has never met. Though forbidden she meets a young man and the choices she … view post

I have to say I was little bit disappointed in Serpent's Tale - I loved the first book and this one was fine but I didn't get into it like I did the first one. I'd say a sophmore slump maybe and I'm sure the third one will be great.

I noticed Interred with Their Bones on your shelf - I really liked that one - sort of like a Shakespearan Davinci Code. Hope you like it!

  • What are ARCs and How Do I Get Them?

I know some sites have been posted in other groups, but I have once again been asked so thought I'd start a group that we could all share our contacts. An ARC is an Advance Reading Copy and should not be distributed to anyone else as it is actually a proof. Here are the sites I most often deal with; some are ARCs, some are simply contest pages. No conflict that we are on Chapters-Indigo, the books for the most part are released to the store & your review as well. -continued
