Okay, the good news is that I have a big admiration for the author of this work of literary excellence. I will congratulate him on his very descriptive and imaginative writing style, of which I would give one of my eye teeth to own just a sliver of his talent. But …I did not like the story. If you are considering reading this very acclaimed and by-many-approved novel, be warned of just a few points, which is off course just my view on matters. so i was wondering about a canadian saying that seems to be different in alberta and bc. i would love everyone's input so i have at least a few of my hair brain sayings and idioms correct.
i am trying to convince a principle at a school that it is important to have a good fench speaking teacher teach french and even though he agrees, the school can`t afford to hire a french teacher. he ends by saying: `` you are preaching to the converted`` or `` you are preaching to the choir``. view post

About Me:

I'm a wife and mommy. Originally from south africa, but has made canada my home for 11 years now. Always loved Chapters and coffee. Infact I am a bit of a coffee addict. I love reading a good book, have lots of favourite tv shows and know a lot about movies and actors. I stay busy between gardening, driving teenagers to basketball and taking a kindergartener to swimming lessons. In summer you will find me at a lake camping,probably reading a mystery novel or catching up on my magazines.
Position:

I am a CER at Chapters Kamloops! Making my customer's day with the right book and a nice compliment is my job and i LOVE it. What a thrill too when i solve the puzzle of what author and what book!
Why I Love My Job:

Hey, I'm surrounded by books, nice people and I'm working for a company that actually has their act together. What's not to love!
Interests:

Basketball, obviously reading, beautiful photo's (I'm actually a good pic taker myself), skiing, travelling overseas and anywhere new, languages and people with accents (always something to learn from them). Interior decorating, gardening and horses.
Favourite Genres:

Historical novels with factual characters mixed in. Adventures in far off places by excentric people. War novels. Some mysteries and a few crimes.
Favourite Books:

I wish I can actually remember all the books' names that have made me love the written word so much.....
Favourite Movies:

Well, I love so many and after so many years how do one name just a few. Some new ones are: PS I love You, Casino Royal 007 (can't wait for the new one), A Beautiful Life, The Pianist, You got Mail (love the book store), Blood Diamond, The Departed.
Favourite Music:

Classic stuff like ill divo pavarotti and friends and andre rieu. Also like contemporary stuff like james blunt and josh groban. Modern country like toby and sugar land. Also some rock like david cook coldplay and nickleback. Christmas music!
