300 Book milestone

I posted my 200-book milestone just 4 months ago and now here I am again. I am 8 books away from reaching 250 this year alone. I have managed to clear quite a few books from my TBR pile. view post

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas sounds like a bit of a heartbreaking story, well worth the read though I'm sure. I'll make sure to have some Kleenex handy if I read the book or watch the movie because I tear up easily when anything sad happens.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Happy reading!

I've heard good things about The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. It's about two boys who become friends, one of which is in a concentration camp, right? Is it really sad at the end of the book/film?

Slumdog Millionaire sounds like a great movie with a point to make. I really enjoy those types of movies that inspire a wide range of emotions. So, the movie was pretty graphic, eh? I don't mind violence in a movie at all if it plays an important role in the story. I can't wait to see the film now.

I'm happy to hear you liked The Reader. I'll make sure to have some tissues with me when I read it. A book that can make me cry generally turns into one of my favorites.

    Have a great day!

I actually haven't read Slumdog Millionaire yet. I added it to my “plan to buy” shelf though because I have heard many people say good things about the film, and I like to read the book before I see the movie. From what you've said, I'm guessing you really enjoyed it. What emotions did it inspire? Was it uplifting, hopeful, sad, etc.?

I also see that you are reading The Reader. I just bought that book a few days ago and plan to read it fairly soon. How are you enjoying it?

Yes, I really, really enjoyed The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova. It is not an action story though in case that's what you were hoping for - it's a character driver novel. I have a review for this book if you want to toddle over and read it. Cheers!
