The Almost Moon

The Almost Moon | Alice Sebold

Meh....

Ok....so I know I said I'd only review what I really liked....But I feel it is my duty to say while some of you may enjoy this one, after a masterpiece that was The Lovely Bones, I was highly disappointed. The Almost Moon is a wonderful idea of a book, but it always left me with the feeling that it has to get better the further you go. The main character could certainly be the type some women could relate to; divorced, grown children, and a dependent mother, from what I took to be a lifetime … read review

YAY!

So excited! My 'Book of Awesome' just arrived, and my 'Short Second Life of Bree Tanner' is in the mail!! Not totally impressed that it's now on sale for 10 bucks in-store and I paid full price for it, but them's da breaks when you must have what you must have! With summer looming (I imagine it'll eventually come - fellow NL'ers will know what I mean), I'm very pumped to lounge in the sun out on the deck with whatever read I have going! Just kinda sucks that having to go to work has to … view post

That's cool. I LOVE reading, too, but the book I'm really looking forward to reading hasn't been released yet. Will have to wait til next month. It's called Predator by Terri Blackstock. In the meantime, I long to sink my imagination into a really good novel. Any suggestions?

I'll have to get my hands on some of Picoult's novels at some point.

Yeah, some of the reviews on here seem like an in-depth analysis of the book. I just write as much or as little as I feel I want and need to say. I find it way easier to write a longer review of light "fluff" novels like paranormal romance for some reason.

Aww, that's too bad that none of your friends have joined the community, but this is a good chance to make some new internet friends. I've never actually met any ...

I couldn't agree more! Three days would be lovely and relaxing.

I've never read anything by Jodi Picoult. Are her novels often sad? I'm under the impression that most, if not all, of her novels take on really difficult themes. I could be wrong since I haven't read anything of her though. I read your review of Mercy. It was good! I know a lot of people write really intimidating long, elaborate reviews, but that isn't a requirement. I'm envious of some of the reviewers though.

    Take care!

Long weekends are never long enough, hey? I'm glad to hear that you managed to finish off a book though. What are you reading these days?

    Happy reading!
