This novel is disgusting, taboo, and makes you feel like tearing your eyes out. It is also genius. In this incredibly thrilling, sexually-charged novel, a woman, Lou, seeks to escape from the drudgery of civilization and retreat into a mansion in the middle of the Ontario forests. Initially, Lou seeks to unearth forgotten manuscripts and priceless bits of historical riffraff, yet instead she finds a woman where there had once been only a hollow shell. Starting in September, I will be embarking on a literary journey: to go through 52 of the english-speaking world's greatest classics and classics to be. That equates to roughly one book a week. At the beginning of each month I will post the four books that I will read followed by a review of each.
