Three Day Road

Three Day Road | Joseph Boyden

I enjoyed thisnovel although there is a lot of disturbing subject matter. It made me think of the sacrifices all Canadians have made for our freedom. I would definitely recommend it. read review

Hello Polly, I haven't been on much over the last while. My husband passed away suddenly last February 2011. I have been in a mess but trying to hold it together.
I don't know when you sent me your message about camping but I think it must have been the summer.
Hope you are doing okay. Marg

I just read a Henning Mankel book, I can't remember the name but I enjoyed it.
I am reading Room right now it is good although a little disturbing.
    How are you these days?

Hi Polly, just wondered how you are and what you are reading these days? I am reading Italian Shoes by Henning Mankell. It is quite good.
I must read Three Day Road. It sounds good. Hope all is well. Marg

Thank you for your note, Paulette. I have no siblings to help out but Dad often came to Canada to visit and we wanted him to live with us after Mum died. He is very independent but now he is struggling.
I am glad I can lose myself in my books at times; it is a worry, though.
Thank you for your kind words, Marg

Hi Polly, it is good to hear from you. I haven't been having a good summer as my Dad is ill. He has dementia and lives in Scotland. I was over to be with him for six weeks in May, just came back a few weeks ago.
Sounds like The Help is worth reading. Isn't it great when you can lose yourself in a book?
I just tried reading Sue Miller's "The Lake Shore Limited" but couldn't get into it at all. I enjoy most of her books but alas, not this one.
Favourite by Karin Fossum is Indian Bride.

Hi Paulette, thank you for adding me as your friend.
I am happy we are cat lovers, too.
