Liked this book. It was different from the film which was great because it kept the two separate in my mind. read review

I've only read The Prince of Tides. However, I have seen a couple of other movies based on his books. The Water is Wide and The Great Santini. Both movies were great and I think you will enjoy the books. The Wateri s Wide is actually based on his life, when he taught for a poor black community across the river in Savannah. I've never read the book, but the movie was quite emotional. Give it a try. I think it's available at chapters. I just checked their stock online. Enjoy.

I've read " The Prince of Tides ", as you have; I was impressed with his use of language. I have also read " The Lords of Discipline "; it is a bit more of a thriller with its' inspiration being his years at a military academy down south; it is a fairly effective thriller at that with a strong mystery tone to it as well.
