Season Of The Witch | Nicolas Cage

Better title: Nicholas Cage pays for his private island

...or was this for one of your two castles, Nick? I know, you did this movie to pay for that impulse buy on eBay, the dinosaur skull! Whatever it was, I'm sure you did this "movie" to pay some bills. But why, Nick? Why subject the rest of us to your financial woes? I'll sponsor you if it helps! You were so good in Kickass, Leaving Las Vegas, and Adaptation! I have read Island of the Sequined Love Nun, which is largely why I bought Lamb. What I like about Christopher Moore's writing is that it's easy to get into and it's funny and bizarre enough to keep me interested, I've had so much trouble focusing on books recently, so it's a nice change to sit down and read and keep reading for more than 20 minutes. I don't know if it's one of my favorite books, but I'm definitely enjoying it, I'm just past the halfway point...

It's a pretty incredible story. The persistance of those parents was amazing. Strictly as a movie, I found it a little wordy...using exposition too often instead of trusting the actors to express the emotion (and also some over-the-top scenes like Nolte writhing on the stairs). But it holds up pretty well for a 20-year-old movie
