Tracy Chevalier’s sixth novel, Remarkable Creatures, traces the dramatized life of pioneer fossil collector Mary Anning of Lyme Regis in seaside 19th century England. Anning was an illiterate, working-class young girl whose claim to fame was being struck by lightning as a baby and having survived. Renaissance

This profile has gone by the wayside for quite some time. Sadly, it is a reflection of my lack of time and the care I have given myself lately. In my renewed promise to create my own tranquil space, to think, to be creative, and to just be, I have decided to be more open and active with other bookworms.

So, here I go again.

Cheers,

Hey, sorry for not replying sooner! I haven't been on much. I absolutely love Wally Lamb, if you haven't heard of him you should definitely check him out, my most favorite novel of his is I Know This Much is True. It's a bit lengthy but completely worth it- for me, if the novel is good, then length is completely irrelevant. How about you? What else or who else do you enjoy?

Hey! I see you're a huge Salinger fan, as am i. So far i've only read The catcher in the rye (naturally) and Franny & Zooey and was extremely intruiged by both of the novels. Currently i'm reading Raise High the Roof Beam Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction - i'm really enjoying it, i just got to the part where Seymour is being introduced lol. I'd be really interested to hear what you have to say on his novels :)
    thanks. :)

Hi Saro, I hope to read another Chevalier novel, but instead I started Moby Dick by Nathiel Hawthorne, it took me 5 chapters to get any feeling for the main character Ishmael. Not read Karenina yet

I finished The Blue Virgin -any suggestions. I found the ending very intriguing, however Ella's rational of leaving Rick weak even though I understood the parallel to Isabelle.
