Catch Me When I Fall

Catch Me When I Fall | Patricia Westerhof

subtle and riveting

I loved this collection of linked stories. I found myself compelled to go back and reread stories with the added context provided from later stories and from other characters' perspectives. A rich, layered, and senstive rendering of a community in transition. Highly recommended. read review

  • Author

  • I'm living in: Toronto, ON

  • About Me:

I worked as a lawyer and as an English teacher before turning to writing fiction. I am a graduate of The Humber School for Writers, where my mentor was David Adams Richards. I won the Globe and Mail’s Great Toronto Literary Project contest, and was shortlisted for the 2006 CBC Literary Awards. My first novel, Things Go Flying, has just been released.

  • My Works:

This is what the Globe & Mail said about Things Go Flying: “Lapeña stretches belief with great charm. Her cameo clips of Voltaire and Nietzsche are a mind-tweaking delight. Her style is a gently exaggerated verisimilitude, her form spooky farce, all held aloft by sensitive portraits of four very different human animals....This is a book to make you see the gifts amid the chaos.”
