It's been a while since I've read a real page turner, and this was definitely one of them! A great novel about a witch, a vampire, and their families, friends, and foes. A great read. read review

Is It Ok To...Stop Reading a Boring Book?

I am currently reading "Chasing Harry Winston"...and it's SOOOOO boring! I can't seem to stay interested in the novel. I'm not sure if it's the storyline, or the way the author writes...but I think I'm about to give up on it. I HATE giving up on a novel. I try so hard to keep reading, even when everything in me says to QUIT while I'm ahead. After all, why do I want to waste my precious time reading a novel that just does nothing for me. I guess there is NO book police who is going to … view post

Hey Kaiti - How are you doing? Long time no chat - was wondering what new books you might have read this year that have enthralled you?! I read HALF of "The Girl Who PLays with Fire" before I had to return it to the library, but I am waiting for it to come out in mass paperbound to buy it (March)....it was really good, as good if not better than the first novel.

I am not ready at all. I seem to have been a Scrooge this year. I have to finish my shopping today for Christmas tomorrow. But I will get it done.

So glad to hear that you enjoyed the Potato Peel Society. It was very interesting. Something a little different. Took me 50 pages or so to actually get into it, but when you peel back the layers it was in fact a phenomenal novel.

Right now, I am reading The Road, Scar Tissue and The Shadow of the Wind. None all that great...

    How about you?

I have never read Anne Rice... can you reccommend her best novel?

  • Kaitz12

    Kaitz12 says:

I am busy reading Still Alice. SO far so good. Tell you more about it as I get further into it.

Although I just finished reading The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society. This was a great little book. See my review.

And prior to that, I read Sarah's Key which was an incredible novel. One of my top 3 of all time!
