Abusive mother

I'm usually the sort of person who finishes a book no matter how lame it is. I was not able to finish this one no matter how much I tried. I read three quarters of the book and felt suffocated by the emotional abuse taking place in the story. It broke my heart that the mother of these two girls is so emotionally abusive with her girls.
