Don`t waste your time

I was looking forward to this one, but was very quickly disappointed. With the exception of a glimpse of a wolf in chapter 2, you don't meet the Hero until page 85 of a 274 page book! And then the author made him sound like a woman in need of steroids! As the book progresses, the author seems to have gotten really lazy and simply dumped page after page of useless, boring, descriptive dialogue. I mean, who talks like that?!
