Handle with Care: A Novel

Handle with Care: A Novel | Jodi Picoult

Not the best, just okay

Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult is the story of a family with two daughters; the youngest is born with brittle bone disease, a condition that makes her bones break easily. The mother sues for wrongful birth and the OB just happens to be her best friend. This is second book I have read by Picoult and as always a emotional read but I found it the characters appeal lacking and not as riveting as My Sister’s Keeper. read review

Hmmm, it's hard to say. Some of the Pendergast books can stand alone (Still Life with Crows comes to mind). Others have a continuing story arc over several books. I'm always a big fan of starting at the beginning so you get to meet all the characters, etc. but I know that's hard when the series already has 9 or more books in it.

hey....I was checking out your shelf to see what you read and I noticed you read the Brent Weeks trilogy. What did you think of it? I keep picking it up and looking at it in the store (I think it is the distinctive covers, lol) but haven't tried it. I also see that you are reading Douglas Preston. Have you read any of the Pendergast series? It's great.

Thanks for the friend invite! Since you are becoming a David Morrell fan ... did you know he wrote the original Rambo (of Sylvester Stallone fame). Happy reading and will look forward to your posts.

Hey, you're right. The Night Angel Trilogy is really good. I just finished reading the last book. I loved it.. the ending was great. I'm sad that the trilogy is done.. I didn't want it to end. After reading all 3 books it feels like you know the characters in person.. Brent Weeks is a really good writer. I too can't wait for his future works. :)

Did you cry when you read The Lovely Bones? I did, numerous times! And my husband says that I have a heart of ice because I didn't cry during King Kong (the movie with the computer animated gorilla). ha ha.

Thanks! I'll definitely pick it up today then. Sounds like a great trilogy. I'm not really into fantasy novels because I find them hard to read and relate to but I'll check this one out :)

  • What are ARCs and How Do I Get Them?

I know some sites have been posted in other groups, but I have once again been asked so thought I'd start a group that we could all share our contacts. An ARC is an Advance Reading Copy and should not be distributed to anyone else as it is actually a proof. Here are the sites I most often deal with; some are ARCs, some are simply contest pages. No conflict that we are on Chapters-Indigo, the books for the most part are released to the store & your review as well. -continued
