Either I'm Getting Old Or Winter's Just a Good Time To Reminisce...

I'll leave it up to you to decide whether I'm old or not, but I've just spent 2 days listening to Led Zeppelin. Right now I'm listening to Physical Graffiti, an album that came out when I was 10 (I guess that tells you if I'm 'old' or not) & which normally people might think I'm too young to have gotten into. But by a happy accident, I have parents who were hippies & by an unhappy accident, I grew up from 11-17 living in Regina, where there are large families & music got passed down from kid to… read review

Please Help Save the Toronto Railway Museum! Yes... this has to do with books too!

I don't normally go begging, but this is for an important cause; to save The Toronto Railway Museum, a mandated Canadian Heritage Site, at risk of disappearing. This isn't just a City of Toronto or a Canadian Heritage cause, but rather, a request to help save a Canadian Heritage Site that is already of interest to visitors from all over the world.

It's not a completely inappropriate place to post this because the group responsible for building the museum, the Toronto Rail … view post

No apologizes necessary. I'd rather get a longer message with very excellent insight into the series and the characters then a short non sense answer that doesn't really add up. I like the sort of quick literary essay you gave me. It adds a new perception to the series that I wasn't necessary thinking of. Thank you for your thoughts. Very much appreciated.

Very true, I guess it was more about hope for the future of Peeta for Katniss. It just seemed weird to stop mentioning the pearl when it receive a lot of mentioning throughout the last to books. But I do enjoy your rationality behind it. Thanks.

Yes everything is good, thank you. I'm glad your liking Pirate Latitude, it definitely one of his best. You'll have to give the new one Micro which he wrote a third of and another author finished it with his notes

Hey Word Taster, I'm a little confused. Are you referring to The Motorcycle Diaries or the book Che which is a collection of Poetic Letters to his mother, diary entries and speeches that he has made?

Yeah maybe i'll use his book as a bathroom reader so I won't have to commit myself to the novel whole heartedly. I did enjoy Superfreakonomics though and thought it was quite interesting. Eaters of the Dead is definitely better in book form then the movie.

Hey Word Taster, I'm only checking out gladwell's book because I got it for free and a buddy said it was interesting. With regards to crichton books, I really do like them all but I would probably say check out Jurassic Park first or one of the last books he wrote like Pirate Latitude or Next. If your a fan of Beowulf and fantasy along that lines check out Eaters of the Dead. Red Rising and Congo also are pleasant reads. I think I'll enjoy the Terror aswell. Thanks.
